Description: The dance of the Gasara is performed by a Noh dancer on top of the ancient stage of stone. When the monks begin their ritual chants and beat the drums, the dancer consumes the flesh of the Tengu and enters the sacred trance dance. He calls upon the power of the Gasaraki, the demon god of war so that he, a Kai, an instrument of war, can be granted victory over his enemies. The dancer surrenders his body to the demon god and is granted the powerful weapon-demon, the Kugai.
